In 2015 I choreographed a presentation of “The Other Direction”, a new musical by Jim Territo and Andrew Rincon about the world’s first gay boyband, for a presentation through MTF’s 4x15 series. We remounted a couple of those numbers for a concert presentation at Feinstein’s/54 Below that August, and then we all went on to different projects as life happened.

Flash forward to a pandemic and I get an email asking if I’d be interested in choreographing a number for a very special audition. Due to safety restrictions, I never actually got to meet my cast. I staged the number, filmed myself demonstrating the steps in my living room, drop boxed the videos along with pages and pages of charts displaying formation shifts, and met with the cast via zoom for a choreography Q&A.

The gentlemen rehearsed by themselves, flew into LA from across the country, and stitched it together the weekend of their official audition. And they blew the judges away! Such an incredible moment making work in a truly unconventional process and seeing my steps on national television. Proud of this little project that keeps chugging along! More information HERE.
